The University in Burdwan was opened in 1960, and awarded as a four star status by NAAC is a public university situated in Bardhaman, West Bengal, India. It worked from 15 June, 1960 with thirty undergraduate colleges sprawled across 5 districts that came under the jurisdiction of the university. The new University Act is in force from 1981.
