Rajasthan Public Service Commission has had a glorious past of nearly 50 years. During 1923, the Lee Commission had recommended setting up of a Central Public Service Commission in India, but it did not give much thought to the need of establishing similar commissions in provinces. It was left largely to the discretion of provincial Governments to recruit and exercise control over their Services, as they thought proper.At the time of formation of Rajasthan, the institution of Public Service Commission existed in only three of the twenty-two covenanting states viz. Jaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner.

The successor administration after the merger of the princely states promulgated an ordinance on 16th August,1949 establishing the Rajasthan Public Service Commission Ajmer. It provided for the abolition of the PSCs or other institution performing duties in the nature of those of a PSC in the constituent states. The ordinance also provided inter-alia, for the composition of the Commission, the staff and the functions of the Commission.

f) Click on “Submit” button to complete the registration process. Upon successful submission a mail will be sent to you that will contain your username/Registration ID and password. Please check your spam folder also for the mail.
g) The maximum time for filling-up the On-line application is 30 minutes. In case of more than 30 minutes, your data will not be saved and the applicant has to restart the filling-up of application form.
h) If you are a “Registered User”, then login with your User Name (Application Registration Number) and Password after the registration process gets completed.
i) The closing date for Registration of Application Form is 14.12.2010.
j) After applying on-line, the candidate should take a print out of the system generated on-line application form and retain it safely for future reference.
k) Please do not send the copy of system generated on-line application form to LIC of India.
l) There is provision to modify the submitted on-line application only once between 15/12/2010 to 16/12/2010 till 12:00 midnight. Candidates are requested to make use of this facility to correct the details in on-line application, if any. Any changes made after the due date will not be accepted. The Candidates shall be required to modify all the fields except Post Applied For and Payment Details.
m) Although it has been mentioned in the Employment notification that the LIC branch code shall be provided in a drop down box,however due to technical reasons the candidates are advised to manually enter the Branch Code in the application fee details of the on line application form.
n) Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply on-line much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date for depositing the fees to avoid the possibility of disconnection/ inability/failure to log on the LIC�s website on account of heavy load on internet/website jam.

GUIDELINES FOR SCRIBE

A scribe to write the written examination on behalf of a Visually Impaired or Orthopedically Handicapped candidate whose writing speed is affected by Cerebral Palsy may be used. In all such cases, where a scribe is used, the following rules apply:
a) Candidate will have to arrange his own Scribe at his own cost.
b) The Scribe may be from any academic stream.
c) The academic qualification of the Scribe should be one grade lower than the stipulated minimum eligibility criteria and the Scribe should possess less marks than the candidate.
d) Both the candidate and the scribe should give a suitable undertaking confirming that the scribe fulfills all the stipulated eligibility criteria as mentioned above. In case it later transpires that the scribe did not fulfill any of the laid down eligibility criteria or had suppressed material facts, the candidature of the applicant shall stand canceled, irrespective of the result of the written examination.
e) Candidates who use scribe will be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every hour of the examination.

AGE RELAXATION

Minimum Age shall be 21 years (completed) as on 1st November, 2010. Maximum age shall be 30 years. Relaxations in upper age limit for SC/ST/OBC/ECO/SSRCO/Persons with Disabilities/Confirmed LIC employees shall be as under:

DEFINITION FOR PERSON WITH DISABILITY

(a) Orthopedically Handicapped (OH): A person having a minimum of 40% physical impairment with disability of one hand or one leg provided independent mobility is not affected, are eligible to apply.
(b) Visually Impaired (VH): Candidates with visual Impairment falling under Category I (40-74%) only are eligible to apply.

Special Class Railway Apprentices’ (SCRA) refers to a handful of candidates that are selected by the Union Public Service Commission India after a very rigorous selection process to the undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Railways Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. This programme was started in 1927 and is one of the oldest in India. Earlier after training at their Railway’s largest workshop, i.e. Jamalpur Workshop, and for one year in United Kingdom, the selected candidates were required to appear in the Mechanical Engineering Degree Exmination held by Engineering Council (London).

SCRA Exam Centers 2010

SCRA 2010 Exam will be held at the following centres :

The centres and the date of holding the SCRA examination as mentioned above are liable to be changed at the discretion of the Commission.

While every effort will be made to allot the candidates to the centres of their choice for examination, the Commission may, at their discretion, allot a different centre to a candidate, when circumstances so warrant.

Candidates admitted to the examination will be informed of the time table and place or places of examination.

Candidates should note that no request for change of centre will normally be granted. However, when a candidate desires a change in centre from the one he had indicated in his Application form for the Examination, he must send a letter addressed to the Controller of Examinations, Union Public Service Commission, giving full justification as to why he desires a change in centre.

Such requests will be considered on merits but requests received in the Commission’s Office after 27th October, 2010 will not be entertained under any circumstances.

2. The approximate number of vacancies, to be filled on the results of the examination is 44.

Note : Two SCRA vacancies are reserved for physically challenged candidates belonging to Orthopaedically Handicapped having functional classifications OA, OL.

The number of vacancies mentioned above is liable to alteration.

Reservation will be made for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Physically Disabled categories in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government.

Rebecca Sara “Becki” Newton (born July 4, 1978) is an American actress best known for her role as Amanda Tanen on the television series Ugly Betty. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Newton was raised in Guilford, Connecticut. She is of English descent and began performing musicals and plays at local theaters, and studied at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with a BA in European History. The Madhyamika-karika testifies to the historicity to their author Nagarjuna, the great Buddhist philosopher, who extolled the path of Prajnaparamita. He wrote the Karika in order to expound the basic teaching of the Prajnaparamita-sutras. The recent archaeological discoveries at Amaravati corroborate to certain extent the broad facts about Nagarjuna’s life on which his traditional biographies agree. He was born in a Brahmin family in Andhradesa at Vedali. Based on the Chinese author Tao-an (A.D.568) and Kumarjivas’ account and his date for Buddha’ nirvana and other material of a Japanese Scholar Hakaju concluded that Nagarjuna lived about 113-213 A.D. The fact being his friendship with a Satavahana King Gautamiputra Satakarni (130-150 A.D.) and his having spent the latter part of his career in the monastery built for him by this king at Bhramaragiri (Sriparvata). The Manjuasrimulakalpa and Tibetan sources contend that Nagarjuna had the Amaravati stupa renovated, enclosed and ornamented with the assistance of this King. Dhanyakataka and Sriparvata were the Centers of his activity. Rajatarangini of 11 th century treats him as a contemporary of Kanishka.

Kirsten Caroline Dunst (born April 30, 1982) is an American actress, model, and singer. She made her film debut in Oedipus Wrecks, a short film directed by Woody Allen for the anthology New York Stories (1989). At the age of 12, Dunst gained widespread recognition playing the role of vampire Claudia in Interview with the Vampire (1994), a performance for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. The same year she appeared in Little Women, to further acclaim.

Dunst achieved international fame as a result of her portrayal of Mary Jane Watson in the Spider-Man trilogy (2002–07). Since then her films have included the romantic comedy Wimbledon (2004), the romantic science fiction Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) and Cameron Crowe’s tragicomedy Elizabethtown (2005). She played the title role in Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette (2006), and she starred in the comedy How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008).

In 2001, Dunst made her singing debut in the film Get Over It, in which she performed two songs. She also sang the jazz song “After You’ve Gone” for the end credits of the film The Cat’s Meow (2001). In early 2008, Dunst confirmed she was suffering from depression, checking into a treatment center before discharging herself in March and resuming her career.

NIOS is an “Open School” to cater to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners up to pre-degree level. It was started as a project with in-built flexibilities by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 1979. In 1986, the National Policy on Education suggested strengthening of Open School System for extending open learning facilities in a phased manner at secondary level all over the country as an independent system with its own curriculum and examination leading to certification.

Consequently, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India set up the National Open School (NOS) in November 1989. The pilot project of CBSE on Open School was amalgamated with NOS. Through a Resolution (No. F.5-24/90 Sch.3 dated 14 September 1990 published in the Gazette of India on 20 October 1990), the National Open School (NOS) was vested with the authority to register, examine and certify students registered with it up to pre-degree level courses.
