UPSC | National Defence Academy Naval Academy Exam I | Union Public Service Commission | Naval Academy | National Defence Academy NDA NA Exam Eligibility | National Defence Academy | NDA | NDA Naval Academy

The National Defence Academy of India located in Khadakwasla, Pune, is a joint services academy where cadets of the three wings Army, Navy and Air Force are trained together before they go for their pre-commission training to their respective academies. It covers an area of roughly 8,300 acres (34 km).

Empirical lessons from the World Wars dictated the need for a joint Services Academy to train future leaders for combined operations. The vision of Lord Mountbatten in consonance with the sustained impetus and groundwork provided by Field Marshal Sir Claude J Auchinlek, C-in-C in India laid the conceptual foundation for a Joint Services Military Academy modeled on the lines of the US West Point. In 1941, Lord Linlithgow, the then Viceroy of India had received a gift of a hundred thousand pounds from a grateful Sudanese Government for building a suitable war memorial in recognition of the sacrifices of the Indian troops in the liberation of Sudan in the North African Campaign during the World War II. A committee headed by Field Marshal Sir Claude J Auchinlek, after extensive studying of various Military academies around the world, submitted its recommendations to the Government in December 1946 After independence of India in August 1947, this report was referred to the Chiefs of Staff Committee. Their suggestion for the formation of an interim Junior Inter Services Wing at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun was then implemented. A simultaneous action plan to commission a permanent war academy at Khadakwasla, Pune was also commenced and the foundation stone was laid by the first Prime Minister of India, Pt Jawaharlal Nehru on 6 October 1949.

Acharya Nagarjuna, the profounder of the Madhyamika Buddhism is one of the greatest philosophers India has ever produced. The Buddhists of China, Japan and Tibet rever him to be the Second Buddha, who once again set in the motion the wheel of Dharma. He endowed with metaphysical profundity and logical acumen has reaffirmed the basic ideas of Buddhism, apart from providing reinterpretation, clarification and amplification of new concepts of Buddhism.

He focused on the fundamental problems of human existence, human aspiration and human actions. He found solutions to them through intuition and reflective thought. He applied and practiced these solutions and his doctrine and experience become a norm to motivate rational and sensitive minds of different generation in different countries with varied cultural environment. Hanayama Shinsho recognizing Nagarjuna’s contribution has opined that ‘he may well be called the progenitor of Mahayana thought’.

The Madhyamika-karika testifies to the historicity to their author Nagarjuna, the great Buddhist philosopher, who extolled the path of Prajnaparamita. He wrote the Karika in order to expound the basic teaching of the Prajnaparamita-sutras. The recent archaeological discoveries at Amaravati corroborate to certain extent the broad facts about Nagarjuna’s life on which his traditional biographies agree.

pulsar 300cc price in india | pulsar 300cc Mileage | pulsar 300cc specs | pulsar 300cc performance | pulsar 300cc

Rumors are that Bajaj seem to be engaged in developing a bigger and sportier version of Bajaj Pulsar 300cc. If ever that’s happening probably it will give the Yamaha a run for its money as Pulsars are dubbed to be bikes with international features coming at Indian prices circles. But all fingers crossed at this point about neither the features nor the price and don’t know when it will hit the roads.

So, as of now the Bajaj engineers seem to enjoy the bike circles talk about their new, yet-to-be-launched newer bike, specifically the high-end Pulsar tweak, the Bajaj Pulsar 300cc. Its talked that Bajaj had Kawasaki give the initial design set up but they are going to develop it indigenously without having any Kawasaki-like looks.

There are also doubts about the front faring and as it’s going to be a 300cc bike that will fit well for racetracks, bike lovers want it to have a sporty looking front. There are some spy photos available and no one knows whether they are photoshop tweaked versions or the concept bike photos of Bajaj Pulsar 300cc. From photos, it does appear that the visor is not given proper attention. It also appears that the bike has a single cylinder and we simply cant wait to know the amount of power a single cylinder bike could deliver. People also expect that the new Bajaj Pulsar 300cc will be having a DTS-Fi engine.

As per the price industry people say that it could be well about the 1 lakh mark. Considering the Indian road conditions its all suspense as to how Bajaj will take mileage into their designing, as because at least we are not so rich to have a tank filled and it gets emptied in a few days’ time while commuting only to office; the 200cc Pulsar is giving just 30-35 kmpl and should this give around 20 kmpl it becomes a white elephant. As to the power it’s still a guessing but one can expect more than 45 bhp.

People from Yamaha and Honda say that Bajaj is not into any making of a Pulsar 300cc or so and it’s just their marketing strategy of hyping about their forthcoming launches, so people talk about the brand and promote it before even the launch has happened.

Bike lovers, especially Pulsar lovers just hope that Bajaj Pulsar 300cc gets due attention with respect to sporty looks, seat saddle, headlamps and also the kick-start option. Not to mention about the 6-speed transmission and gearshift concerns that earlier Pulsars have.

So said, Bajaj Pulsar 300cc can really brighten up the Indian automobile market and Bajaj will take over the competition by 360 degrees. All we can do is open our eyes and wait for the bike to roll down the Indian roads.

Rajasthan Public Service Commission has had a glorious past of nearly 50 years. During 1923, the Lee Commission had recommended setting up of a Central Public Service Commission in India, but it did not give much thought to the need of establishing similar commissions in provinces. It was left largely to the discretion of provincial Governments to recruit and exercise control over their Services, as they thought proper. At the time of formation of Rajasthan, the institution of Public Service Commission existed in only three of the twenty-two covenanting states viz. Jaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner.

The successor administration after the merger of the princely states promulgated an ordinance on 16th August,1949 establishing the Rajasthan Public Service Commission Ajmer. It provided for the abolition of the PSCs or other institution performing duties in the nature of those of a PSC in the constituent states. The ordinance also provided inter-alia, for the composition of the Commission, the staff and the functions of the Commission.

NIOS is an “Open School” to cater to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners up to pre-degree level. It was started as a project with in-built flexibilities by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 1979. In 1986, the National Policy on Education suggested strengthening of Open School System for extending open learning facilities in a phased manner at secondary level all over the country as an independent system with its own curriculum and examination leading to certification.

Consequently, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India set up the National Open School (NOS) in November 1989. The pilot project of CBSE on Open School was amalgamated with NOS. Through a Resolution (No. F.5-24/90 Sch.3 dated 14 September 1990 published in the Gazette of India on 20 October 1990), the National Open School (NOS) was vested with the authority to register, examine and certify students registered with it up to pre-degree level courses.

The Fighter trailer | The Fighter 2010 movie trailer | The Fighter public talk | The Fighter movie ratings | The Fighter story

The Fighter is an upcoming 2010 biographical sports film directed by David O. Russell, starring Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale. The film centers on the life of professional boxer “Irish” Micky Ward (Wahlberg) and his older brother Dickie Eklund (Bale). Amy Adams co-stars as a love interest of Ward. The Fighter is Russell and Wahlberg’s third film collaboration, following Three Kings and I Heart Huckabees.

The film is set to be released in select US and Canada theaters on December 10, 2010 and in the UK on February 4, 2011.

Starring : Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale, Amy Adams
Music : Michael Brook
Directed : David O. Russell
Produced : David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman

Mark Wahlberg as “Irish” Micky Ward: Wahlberg elected to star in the film due to his friendship with Ward, based on their separate inner-city working class Massachusetts upbringings. The actor was also attracted to the film’s central theme, of having an ordinary person in “an against-all-odds story,” which he previously explored in Invincible. To mimic Ward’s habits and mannerisms, Wahlberg had him “on set, watching me every single day.” During pre-production, the Ward brothers temporarily moved into Wahlberg’s home. To add to the film’s realistic nature, Wahlberg refused a stunt double and took real punches during the fight scenes. Wahlberg underwent a strict bodybuilding exercise regimen, dedicating over four years of training to obtain the muscular physique to convincingly play Ward. “The last six movies I did I was also secretly preparing for The Fighter at the same time,” the actor continued, “so I would leave three hours early for work and go to the gym and spend three hours there. I would bring the trainers with me on every movie that I did.” Wahlberg hired Freddie Roach as his boxing trainer, who also helped him model Ward’s specific fighting style. The last two years of Wahlberg’s training resulted in the construction of a “dream gym” in his house for daily use, with a personal boxing ring.
