People's Choice Awards: 2009 People's Choice Awards results

2009 peoples choice awards results winnersThe 35th People's Choice Awards/2009 People's Choice Awards will be announced today, capping weeks of voting online for everyone's favorites in the entertainment industry. While the Oscars, the Emmys and the Grammys are are given by peers and experts in the industry, the People's Choice Awards/2009 People's Choice Awards are solely determined by fan voting making it equally significant and prestigious as a validation of a show or artist's popularity. After all, popularity determines one's existence in the entertainment industry. As a result, categories use the word "favorite" rather than the wards show staple "best". For the 2009 People's Choice Awards/35th People's Choice Awards, in addition to the regular assortment of categories, this year will include new categories including Favorite TV Drama Diva, Favorite Movie Cast and Favorite Scene Stealing Guest Star. The show is also partnering with People to present an award for Favorite Star Under 35.

The 2009 People's Choice Awards winners/2009 People Choice Awards results will be announced soon. Hosted again by Queen Latifah, the awards show will be broadcast live on television by CBS. Though the People's Choice Awards will have its requisite celebrity red carpet arrivals and VIP guests in black tie, what sets it from the other Hollywood awards shows is that there are free tickets distributed to the general public. Thus, you'll never know what will happen in the live People Choice Awards because it has a different energy than the others, with fans shouting and shrieking at every chance they get. For instance, when comedian Jim Carrey won the award for "Liar Liar' several years ago, he leapt up from his table, lifted his chair high above his head, and shook it in manic glee as he danced up to the stage, finally hurling the chair ahead of him before bounding onto the stage and smothering his producer in a mock passionate embrace.
