IGNOU Gets 400 New Centres For Bihar Education


Indira Gandhi National Open University aka IGNOU shall start training centers at 400 places in the Bihar state. These will be infrastructured with computer laboratories to offer distance education via information technology to the rural parts of the State. In addiditon to this, it is valued that during the year 2009-10, 25,000 government officials shall be coached by IGNOU.

Lately, the Government of Bihar contracted an MoU for implementation of state sponsored projects with IGNOU,called ‘Samarth’, a debut of its type endeavour in the nation. Under Samarth , IGNOU has been selected as the Knowledge Partner of the  Bihar state. This Project is an integration of IGNOU’s academic excellence and delivery of market driven vocational courses , for the youngsters of Bihar. These programmes will not only make them become competitively talented, on par with the workforce of other states,  but also aid Bihar  to importantly enhance its Human Development Index. This Project has been unanimously authorized by the Board of Management aka BOM of the University.

IGNOU has been achieved imparting Diplomas in Primary Training to thousands  of Primary School Teachers working with the Bihar Government. The Government is very motivated on professionally training their employed teachers since the State is applying different national and state level school education schemes in a big way, to enhance the delivery of education, both at the primary and the secondary levels.
